Iodine Deficiency Test

Description

This Iodine Deficiency Test evaluates whole body sufficiency for Iodine. After ingesting a 50mg LugoTab tablet, you collect your urine for 24 hours and then mail in a small sample. With this test, iodine sufficiency is determined by comparing the amount of iodine taken to the amount excreted in the urine.

**Before participating in this evaluation, discuss any history of thyroid surgery and/or radiation, Hashimoto’s disease, and any previous thyroid problems with your health care provider or in a consultation with Dr. Douillard.**

We are not able to test youth under the age of 12. Those between 12-18 years of age require a lab tech to determine the proper loading dose.
